GEOCHEMISTRY AND DATA SCIENCE

Postdoctoral Researcher, Geophysical Laboratory, Carnegie Institution for Science

Shuang received his Ph.D. from the Department of Geology and Geophysics at Yale University. He is an interdisciplinary geochemist, modeler and data scientist. His research broadly uses data-driven and model-driven approaches to understand the global carbon and biogeochemical cycle, as well as the co-evolution of the geo- and biospheres through Earth’s history. His two main research areas are: 1) decipher the global carbon cycle and its impact on the Earth surface system, especially under periods of climate perturbations, and 2) natural clustering of minerals with implications for the mineral-forming environments.
